Although I would call myself a morning person, I am usually in a rush to get ready and get out the door for work. So, for me, a fuss free skincare routine is exactly what I aim for.
I begin by washing my face in the shower with Clinique’s Liquid Facial Soap in mild. This is quite a harsh facial soap, but for someone like me with oily/ combination skin, sometimes I need an extra bit of power to remove all the oily residue and impurities that accumulates overnight. If my skin is feeling a little dull or flaky, I will swap this liquid soap for the Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream, which is a very gentle cream-based scrub. This scrub is not at all irritating on my skin and leaves me feeling much brighter and ready to take on the day.
After I jump out of the shower, my first mission is to apply a clarifying lotion, such as Clinique’s Clarifying Lotion 2. This amazing product has been a skin miracle for me. To save room in my suitcase whilst I was travelling throughout Europe I thought I would forgo this product – I mean, what does a toner really do? Somehow I managed to get by without it, but my skin was noticeably duller, oilier and more blemish prone. As soon as I landed back in Perth I made a beeline for my bottle of magic lotion and within less than 24 hours (even after the long haul flight back down under) my skin was back to normal and looking great again – and the only thing I added was this product. I really cannot rave about this enough. I may not always make the most obvious changes to your skin appearance and complexion, but I sure do notice when I skip a day of usage.
My final step in my morning skincare routine is to apply a moisturiser. My favourite is Clinique’s Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief, which I reviewed here. This moisturiser is light and sinks easily into the skin to provide all-day hydration. I love it.
Once I have finished these simple steps I am ready to put on my makeup for the day and head out the door – no fussing about at all.
