Empties

One of my goals of 2015 is to minimise the clutter and make do with what I already have. To achieve this, I have set myself the task of using up my current boatload of beauty and makeup products to clear out my overstuffed draws, and eventually lead a more minimalistic routine. So far I’ve made my way a though products and I thought I would share my thoughts on a few things that have recently made their way to my recycling bin.

Yes to Grapefruit Brightening Facial Wipes — These wipes were pretty effective in removing makeup when I was feeling too lazy to do the whole cleaning routine. I liked the scent and they were gentle on my skin. However, I don’t think I would repurchase these wipes again unless I was travelling as they aren’t the most cost-effective wipes that I’ve seen.

Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo — Despite all the hype, I just can’t seem to get into Batiste. As a sufferer of oily hair, I just found that this did not do the job in the slightest and I found the scent to be too overpowering and lingered too long. I’ve definitely found other dry shampoos out on the market that do a better job to help cover up my oily roots, so I don’t think I’ll be getting this back in my life again.

Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula — I recently spoke about this product in my Morning Skincare Routine. This scrub is incredibly gentle and creamy. And yes, I already have repurchased this gem.

The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel — I think there is no secret that I love the Body Shop, and one of my holy grail products from there is there shower gels. They are so luxurious and smell amazing. One of my favourite scents is Pink Grapefruit. This shower gel really packs a punch in the morning with its bright, citrus scent. I already have backups of this shower gel in other scents and I am currently using Early Harvest Raspberry, which I picked up in the UK.

The Body Shop Hand Creams in Pink Grapefruit and Frosted Cranberry — Following on with my passion for all things Pink Grapefruit at the Body Shop, I also polished off the Pink Grapefruit hand cream, squeezing out every single last drop. This smells amazing and fresh. Without fault, I always get compliments on the smell whenever I applied this. I have also finished off the Christmas edition Frosted Cranberry hand cream. Overall, the hand cream range is light yet moisturising and sinks easily into the skin. I have too many backups of this already – which isn’t a problem because I love them so much and always have one at hand (get it??? πŸ˜‰ ) I am currently using one of the other Christmas editions, Glazed Apple.

Now I can safe chuck these containers into the recycling bin! What have you recently used up?
